Thus ensues the beginning of PPC life for three fairies recruited from the Four Demonly Kings' missions.

Fáelán Portavius was starting to question his life choices.

He could not go back to his home universe. The life he had there was just about the antithesis to the life he wanted. First, he was a full-blooded fairy – a life-long guarantee of admiring looks and envious remarks about his species' strong magic and longevity. Second, he was admitted into prestigious Night Raven College, another attention magnet, yet couldn't back out as not going to high school wasn't exactly a normal and unremarkable thing to do. Third, thanks to his species, he was placed in Diasomnia, the renowned elite dorm for elite students. Giving him all the treasures in the world could not make him want to ever return to that life.

However, staying in this new world wasn't as simple as he thought. The PPC was more oddball than any magical universe could ever hope to be – his first day alone was an onslaught of fickle hallways, inconsistent doors and walls all in an eldritch shade of grey. No worries, everything is so off-the-wall here, you'll be normal in comparison, he was reassured. You're even assigned to fairy partners so you feel even more at home.

With those reassurances in mind, as this new addition to the DF finally reached RC ∞ at last and was greeted by two tiny winged humanoids, he only had one thought: Let's do this.

The day Helena joined the PPC as a new Floater was the best day of her life.

Being a painting-talent, she had artistic sensibilities – even if they were odd. She honestly though lemon yellow and bright magenta were a good colour combination and polka dots on one's lips were aesthetically pleasing, and couldn't understand why no one else agreed. She even managed to put a few permanently oddly-coloured tufts in her blonde hair, which she seemed to take pride in.

She had this eccentric taste not without a reason. She started out just a painter among painters, drawing for other fairies for reasonable payments of acorns and berries. As seasons passed, her customers dwindled and so did her income. She soon reached a conclusion: drawing pretty portraits and pleasing scenery wasn't going to cut it for long. Customers needed something fresh, something new, something that didn't bore them and kept them coming back for more, and so she veered sharply into weird proportions, outrageous colour combinations, dizzying patterns. She was on a constant search for new materials and new artistic methods, hoping to get her business back in shape.

And thus, being whisked away to a world full of ugly grey surfaces and other questionable aesthetics was the best she could ever hope for.

Sheen would rather he was back in Pixie Hollow, but his conscience would never be clear if he really left.

He was a dust-talent with only two wishes: no irregularities in his job at the Pixie Dust Mill and one poppy seed scone every breakfast, no more, no less. He was a simple Sparrow Man – as long as all orders, guidelines and regulations were followed, there was no chance of being kicked out and he could be content with his life. Other dust keepers up to and including Fairy Gary himself were at times afraid of his habit of double-checking every pixie dust ration in order to make sure not a milligram was surplus or short, and turning into a panicking mess if his superiors were the least bit displeased. He was an eccentric fairy, even if he was unaware.

This was the reason why he couldn't leave his newfound companion Helena alone.

He could tell from her eye-watering clothes and paint-stained hair that she meant trouble. He dreaded to think what she would do if left to her own devices: how many rooms she would drench in paint, what dreadful colour combination she would fly around in, how many rules she would break until she would inevitably get herself cast out into the unknown. Thus, he had only one resolve:

Until Helena found enough artistic material to sate her desire, keeping her in check and making sure she didn't cause too much trouble.
